Lunch and Learn: Reversible causes of arrest

Are you ready for the latest science on resuscitation?  Keen to refine your skills and optimise your next resus or nail your ALS assessment? You won't want to miss this interactive 30 minute session!

Continuing with our Lunch and Learn series focusing on rapid updates on patient care and skills based topics, this session will cover reversible causes of cardiac arrest.

Early defibrillation and good quality CPR are the cornerstone of resuscitation, but if the cause of arrest is not quickly identified and managed, the patient is at risk of an unsuccessful resuscitation or re-arrest. Generally referred to as the 4Hs & 4Ts, the common causes of cardiac arrest need to be resolved to restore normal physiological function. In some situations, modifications to the ALS algorithm also need to be considered, these situations are referred to as special circumstances and are typically an extension of the 4Hs & 4Ts.

This free webinar will provide a rapid review and clinical application focusing on patient assessment, and management within the context of the ALS algorithm.  If you are a Medcast Plus subscriber, you will enjoy bonus content following the webinar that demonstrates within an ALS scenario, management of reversible causes as well as an interactive eLearning activity to test your knowledge.  You can also put your knowledge into practice by attending one of our ALS or PALS courses.
