The ALERT™ course is a clinically focused course covering the assessment and management of patients with acute life-threatening emergencies presenting to pre-hospital settings, urgent/emergency care departments and acute hospital settings.
Delivered using a structured and practical approach, the course is divided into 5 core modules:
Approach to emergencies: including primary and secondary survey and the principles of crisis resource management
Airway and breathing: including haemoptysis, respiratory failure, pneumothorax, and drowning
Circulatory: including acute coronary syndrome, shock, acute pulmonary oedema, and pulmonary embolism
Disability: including concussion injury, seizures, pain, TIA, stroke, and dibetic ketoacidosis
Exposure: including anaphylaxis, burns, sepsis, envenomation, and oncological emergencies
Foundational pathophysiology is developed through interactive case studies to ground theory into practice. Live sessions will be delivered covering key topics from each module with on demand eLearning case studies and skills videos providing additional learning to apply your knowledge.
On demand access allows you to complete each module at your own pace over 12 months, with the opportunity to revisit cases, download additional resources and test your knowledge via the clinical case stuides.
