Launch of VETs HeLP: Veterans Healthcare eLearning Platform

26 June 2024 - A/Prof Stephen Barnett

Are you a general practitioner or health professional looking to enhance your knowledge and skills in treating veterans? Our specialised VETs HeLP: Veterans Healthcare eLearning Platform is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to provide optimal care for veterans and their families and improve your understanding of the DVA supports, requirements and claims processes.

In an initiative funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Medcast is excited to be delivering a suite of learning programs which will cover a range of critical topics to help you:

  • understand the unique physical and mental health challenges faced by veterans in the context of their military experience and transition to civilian life,
  • recognise and manage their distinctive health problems
  • identify DVA services for referring veterans and their families, and
  • navigate the complexities of the DVA claims process, including the requirements for medical information and reporting.

On VETs HeLP, you'll learn best practices for conducting sensitive and effective patient interviews, building rapport with veterans, and creating tailored treatment plans. Our facilitators and content experts with experience in veteran healthcare will guide you through authentic case studies and interactive sessions to deepen your understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by veterans and their families.

You will have access to a range of CPD accredited learning activities such as online case scenarios, podcasts, live and recorded webinars and audits.  VETs HeLP will provide you with practical knowledge and tools to enhance your clinical practice and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served.
