Nicole Hewlett is a proud Palawa woman and holds two positions at The University of Queensland, one in the First Nations Cancer & Research Wellbeing team and the other in the Child Health Research Centre. Nicole is currently undertaking a PhD focusing on the development and implementation of Australia’s first FASD Indigenous Framework. Previously, Nicole was a member of the NHMRC Alcohol Workshop group, appointed to update the NHMRC Australian Guidelines to reduce health risks from drinking alcohol.
This session provides evidence-based advice about breastfeeding practices that minimise the risk of infants consuming milk containing alcohol.
