Dietitian, nutritionist, researcher
Dr Giglia is a dietitian and nutritionist. She has a strong foundation working in community and public health nutrition and policy development, with a strong interest in maternal health and child health. Her Masters investigated the nutrient intakes of children in long day care, and her PhD the consumption of alcohol during lactation. Recommendations from her PhD thesis formed the basis for the first alcohol guideline for lactating women nationally and internationally.
This session provides evidence-based advice about breastfeeding practices that minimise the risk of infants consuming milk containing alcohol.
