Morning - Lecture Based Learning: Causes and Epidemiology of Cardiac Arrest.
Life Threatening Arrhythmias: recognition, assessment, pharmacology. Revision of Fundamental Electrocardiography. Ventricular Tachycardia, Ventricular Fibrillation, Asystole, Electromechanical Dissociation (EMD) or Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA), Ventricular Ectopic Beats (VEB’s), Idioventricular Rhythm, Torsade de Pointes, Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT).
Defibrillation: Manual External and Automated.
Afternoon - Practical Skills Stations: Arrhythmia Recognition & Management.
Pharmacology.
Defibrillation.
Intubation, Laryngeal Mask Airway Insertion.

Day Two

Time Subject/Activity
Morning - Lecture Based Learning: Paediatric Advanced Life Support – The current ARC Guidelines.
Paediatric Respiratory Emergencies.
Alternatives to IV Access: Intraosseous Access, Injection, and Infusion, Endotracheal Administration.
Defibrillation of the Paediatric Patient.
Afternoon - Practical Skills Stations: Airway management, Intubation, Laryngeal Mask Airways.
Arrhythmia Recognition & Pharmacology.
Intra-osseous access.
Defibrillation.
