Paediatric Advanced Life Support

This workshop brings together some of the most experienced resuscitation educators and instructors in Australia, and is designed to provide essential skills relating to the assessment and management of Paediatric patients with life threatening arrhythmias. The presenters will emphasise a problem solving approach to the management of emergency situations using the latest Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines for Paediatric Advanced Life Support.

This workshop will provide the participant with skills relating to paediatric cardiac monitoring, recognition of life threatening arrhythmias, management of respiratoryemergencies including advanced airway management, alternatives to IV access including intraosseous access, defibrillation pharmacology considerations in the paediatric patient.

Whilst all candidates will have their skills monitored and assessed throughout the practical sessions, this workshop will be supported by the option of having your competence assessed & accredited for an additional $140. Further details will be provided with your confirmation of registration.

Audience

This Course is designed for all medical staff, nursing staff, and other health care professionals who need to be capable of providing immediate emergency care to their paediatric patients.

Prior to attending this PALS course it is recommended that participants have completed a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) course or equivalent within the last 12 to 18 months.
