COVID-19 Policy

At Medcast, we are constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and the rapidly changing state and territory health advice. We are also mindful of the directives issued by relevant state health authorities and professional bodies regarding vaccine requirements.

We are guided by two priorities: ensuring safety and health, while minimising disruption to our learners.  All Medcast and Critical Care educators and staff are fully vaccinated.

Update 13 January 2022

These changes are effective immediately but are subject to change.

  • With COVID case numbers rapidly increasing, for the safety of all staff and participants, we ask that anyone attending a public face-to-face course completes a PCR or RAT test and receives a negative result within the 3 days prior to attending in person. Please verbally confirm your negative result on arrival.
  • If you have been unable to source a test, please let us know and a RAT can be made available to you upon arrival at the course. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to course commencement if you need to conduct a test on arrival.

Update 14 December 2021

  • We strongly encourage all face-to-face course delegates to be vaccinated for COVID 19 or to have a state or territory Government approved exemption letter prior to attending our courses.
  • We are following state and territory guidelines with regards to the requirements for hosting face-to-face gatherings and work closely with venues to ensure that participant numbers are capped to venue capacity limits.
  • If you are attending a course in a healthcare setting you must comply with the COVID-19 vaccination requirements directed by the relevant state authority. For example, staff working in public health facilities are required to be double vaccinated.
  • State guidelines differ and are constantly evolving, so delegates are encouraged to check the latest guidelines.
  • Delegates may be required to check in and present proof of vaccination and/or exemption on entry to the venue.
  • Prior to entry, please register using the relevant state-based QR check in app if required in your local jurisdiction.
  • All of the venues in which we host our face-to-face courses are taking increased infection control measures. They will ensure suitable cleaning routines are implemented and that the room set up allows for social distancing.

The Australian Government Department of Health is regularly updating on isolation advice. Medcast staff are following this advice and we ask that our delegates adhere to the same guidelines.

Please STAY HOME if you are feeling unwell, have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or is awaiting COVID-19 test results (including yourself) or are considered a close contact by your local health authority.

Medcast will transfer or refund registrations for learners who have received medical advice that they should be isolating on the day of course delivery. Please cite this reasoning and provide a Doctor's note when you speak to our customer service team on 1300 652 046 or support@medcast.com.au.
