The Medcast PALS course is suitable for all clinicians including doctors, nurses and paramedics. We focus on upskilling you to manage emergencies in your clinical environment, emphasising technical and non-technical skills to ensure you are confident during any clinical emergency regardless of whether you are the team leader, working the defibrillator, administering drugs, or supporting family.
Traditional full course format with full face to face delivery supported by pre-course learning to strengthen the development of your knowledge and skills. This two day program allows a slower pace to practise and refine resuscitation skills in a supportive environment. It's ideal if you prefer more hand-on, instructor-lead learning or are new to the profession or PALS training. Access to the case-based eLearning prior to your course helps you prepare and build confidence before the face-to-face sessions.
Recognised as an industry leader in resuscitation training, Medcast PALS courses are fully accredited with several colleges including RACGP and ACRRM. Our programs comply with the latest ANZCOR and ILCOR guidelines and are delivered by experienced clinical educators. We integrate evidence-based learning with modern delivery methods to ensure all PALS competencies are met.
PALS certification is achieved following successful completion of scenario-based multiple choice theory exam, demonstration of basic life support, and participation in team based simulations where you will be required to undertake the following roles:
Team leader
Defibrillation
Weight based drug calculation and administration
Scribe/documentation
Clinical assessment scenarios are adapted for your clinical experience and include the integration of non-technical and technical skills including the use of cognitive aids.
