ECG Interpretation: Mini Audit

This mini-audit measuring outcomes activity has been designed as a practical application of 12 lead ECG interpretation performed on patients presenting with chest pain, palpitations or syncope.

At the end of this activity, you will be able to:

• Identify the requirement to perform a 12 lead ECG
• Identify abnormal ECG findings indicating the presence of arrhythmias
• Identify abnormal ECG findings indicating myocardial ischaemia
• Identify abnormal ECG findings indicating myocardial infarction
• Reflect on referral to specialist or ED transfer for appropriate monitoring & management of life threatening arrhythmias
• Reflect on door to balloon time for patients presenting to GP clinic with STEMI/new LBBB
