This self-paced eLearning activity has been designed to support the implementation of the Talking to dads language guide. It will provide practical tips and share examples for improving health care professional's communication with fathers and other non-birthing parents. It provides evidence-informed recommendations and is based on well-established theories about communication, family systems, attachment and gendered stereotypes and norms.
Participation in the self-paced eLearning activity will support health care professionals to:
Better engage and communicate with men and other non-birthing partners
Promote gender equality in parenting
Apply a language and communication checklist to identify ways to improve service-level language and communication.
You will receive a course completion certificate after you provide feedback by responding to a short set of questions.
The content provided is designed to underpin and guide practice. Health care professionals should apply the learnings as appropriate in their own setting and within their professional scope of practice.
