Skin Cancer Mini Audit

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in Australia, with non melanoma skin cancers occurring more frequently than melanoma skin cancers.  At least 2 in 3 people will be diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime. This mini audit activity has been designed to help you reflect on your practice in early detection, investigation, and management of non melanoma skin cancers in order to continue to provide evidence based treatments.

The Activity

You will be required to:

• identify three patients who required a skin biopsy or excision for non-melanoma skin cancer
• reflect on your practice in comparison to the best practice guidelines
• identify areas for improvement in practice and formulate an action plan to address these areas.
