Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common but often undiagnosed condition that significantly increases the risk of stroke. This interactive 60-minute webinar is designed for health professionals working in general practice, providing practical strategies for identifying and managing AF within general practice.
Using real-world patient case examples, expert facilitators will guide participants through:
Screening and case finding approaches to improve early AF detection in practice
Confirming diagnosis and arranging appropriate initial investigations
Assessing stroke risk and implementing stroke prevention strategies, including direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs)
Managing modifiable risk factors for AF through a patient-centred approach
Rate vs rhythm control considerations and selecting an appropriate management plan
The session will be delivered live, allowing for interaction with experienced facilitators and discussion of clinical challenges in AF management. The recording will be made available on demand for those unable to attend live.
Participants will gain practical, evidence-based knowledge to improve AF detection and optimise patient outcomes, ensuring a practice-wide approach to managing this high-risk condition.
