Practice Review: Annika's Veteran Health Check

Annika is a 35 year old who served as a Navy Lietenant Commander and has voluntarily transitioned from the Australian Defence Force. As a Veteran, she is eligible for a Veteran Health Check within the first year of her transition.

This eLearning will work through the Veteran Health Check and provide an opportunity to apply the VETERANS Lens.

Completion of the learning will reinforce your understanding of the Veteran's Health Check in supporting veteran health.

Learning objectives:

  1. List and describe key components of a Veteran Health Check.
  2. Explain how to perform a comprehensive Veteran Health Check, following all procedural steps and documenting findings accurately in a case study.
  3. Develop a personalised health optimisation plan for a transitioning veteran, incorporating the findings from the Veteran Health Check and addressing both immediate and long-term health needs.
  4. Explain the eligibility criteria for veterans to receive a health check, including the specific time frame within the first year of transition.
