Limited sessions now available for gout

Gout is a common inflammatory condition, affecting up to 6.8% of Australians. Often misunderstood as a self-inflicted lifestyle disease, it imposes a significant burden on many individuals and families. Despite this, prescribing rates for urate-lowering therapy and flare prophylaxis are low, patient adherence to treatment is poor and serum urate target levels fail to be met.

This program will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest Australian clinical guidelines, along with essential clinical resources, to address the common misconceptions around gout and provide practical advice on gout management to help patients meet serum urate targets, improving patient health outcomes and quality of life.

This educational session is brought to you by Medcast and the Quality Use of Medicines Alliance.
