Dr Vincent McCauley was one of the first medical sleep researchers in Australia. He helped design and build Australia’s first sleep studies laboratory and was part of the four-person research team that developed nasal CPAP as the definitive treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea. His PhD thesis focussed on the control of breathing during sleep.
Vince is a physician by nature but he also has significant expertise in the use of computers and computer- based expert systems in sleep monitoring and staging.
