SARS-CoV-2 is the new coronavirus that causes the infectious disease COVID-19. Virtually all data, at this point, has been from confirmed cases in hospitalised patients. Whilst for most people COVID-19 will be a mild and self-limiting illness, serious complications and rapid deterioration may occur at any age or stage. Thus, informed assessment and management is critical.
This KISS covers the treatment and management of COVID-19 in the Primary Care environment. Stages of the disease will be explained, followed by a succinct summary risk factors, symptoms, complications, treatment, respiratory factors and safety netting.
