As I write this I am sitting at the window of my cabin on a Hurtigruten cruise watching the Norwegian Coast slide by and contemplating the value of holidays. I suspect I am not alone in saying that the trouble with holidays is that it doesn’t matter how far you go or how long you stay away, you always take yourself with you.

Psychiatry is ideally suited to videoconferencing but there are perils and pitfalls that become apparent once you engage with it that can be quite discouraging. Our guest blogger is Dr Zelko Mustac, a Sydney psychiatrist who has worked for many years in Western Australia and is very conscious of the difficulty of delivering psychiatric care to rural and remote areas.
